What makes Try Compost special? Try Compost contains many available plant nutrients and organic matter, these are released in small amounts over an extended period of time. This constant supply of nutrients helps plants grow and stay healthy. TRY Compost improves soil texture and moisture retention. In clay soils TRY Compost will reduce compaction (loosen up soil) by increasing soil aeration and porosity. In Sandy soil TRY compost improves ability to retain moisture and provide a base to hold nutrients. TRY compost is certified and approved using the CQA standards that have been issued by the Composting Council of Canada.
Where Do I use TRY Compost? Use TRY Compost everywhere you want healthy plants! It is perfect in the lawn and gardens including vegetable and Flower planting, tree & shrub planting, top dressing, turf establishment and rehabilitation, sod production, disease suppression and control, and erosion control.
How much Compost do I apply? Lawns: For existing lawns, top dress with ½” layer and water thoroughly. For new lawns, work a 2” layer of TRY Compost into existing soil. Gardens: Work a 2-3” layer of TRY Compost into the existing soil. Potting Plants: Use approximately 1/3 TRY Compost in potting soil mixtures Tree & Shrubs: Once a year apply a 1-2” layer of TRY Compost about 1” from the base of the tree or shrub. |
