Everyone is dedicated and committed to making a positive difference in our environment. Dedicated and committed to quality, industry leading standards for all aspects of TRY’s business.

  • Dedicated and committed to customer service.
  • Dedicated and committed to actively participating in the community TRY shares.
  • Dedicated and committed to doing the right thing.
  • Meet the TRY Management Team. Meet leadership.

The TRY Recycling team understands that composting and recycling are no longer options they are the only choice. TRY Recycling leads the way in the implementation of the industry's options and products. The TRY Recycling team works and produces at a higher standard than required by government and industry guidelines.

Jim Graham – CEO

TRY Recycling opened its gates in 1991 and under Jim Graham’s leadership and guidance TRY Recycling developed improved standards for recycling and composting processes. TRY also began to provide support and resources to others in the waste management industry. Today, TRY continues to setthe bar for recycling and composting initiatives, not only locally, but across the province and the country.

Jim is the incoming Chair of the Ontario Waste Management Association Board of Directors. He is the Chair of London’s National Five Bloom Communities In Bloom Program. TRY Recycling Inc. also has a seat at the Board of the Composting Council of Canada, and membership in the Association of Municipal Recycling, Excellence in Manufacturing, Landscape Ontario, Municipal Waste Integration Network, London District Heavy Construction Association, London Home Builders Association and the Canadian Federation of Independent Business.

The role of industry leader requires Jim Graham and the TRY Team to stay active in the waste diversion industry and connected with governments and regulatory agencies. TRY Recycling has never stepped away from the hard questions or hesitated to take the right steps to move its industry forward. Seeing the big picture, being a resource for other industry members and working toward common goals means our environment and the waste diversion industry will be healthier. It means TRY makes a difference for today and future generations.

Rick Vandersluis, Vice President

I have been with TRY Recycling Inc. since December of 1990. As the initial site equipment operator, I have seen a lot of changes throughout my time with TRY. Just as lucky in life as I have been with my career, I married a beautiful lady by the name of Cathy and together we have two sons Cam and Alex. As a family we are very active in the community participating in various sports including hockey, football and various volunteer organizations. When I'm not working I like to spend time fishing or just puttering about in the backyard. In the winter season you can find me at the rink playing, coaching or watching hockey.

Tom Skellett, Chief Operating Officer

This will be my 17th year with TRY Recycling. Having 22 years of experience prior in the accounting and construction industries that would make me the old dog of the team. We’ve grown to over 25 team members since the early days when there was only Rick and I working in the slow winter months, manning the fort. I so enjoy the relationships that we have built with our customers, suppliers and team members over the years. I draw a lot of my energy from helping people become “green” and doing the right thing.

Scott Swing, South London Site Supervisor

Since joining TRY Recycling in 1991, I've worked my way up the TRY ladder from Laborer to Site Supervisor. TRY's success in the industry has stemmed from hard work, determination, and a strong commitment to protecting the environment we live in. Here at our NEW South location, we are carrying on this tradition! As a proud husband and father of three, I'm happy to say my youngest boy, Brody, has show a keen interest in our commitments and will surely grow to be and environmentalist just like his Dad! A tradition I'm glad to pass on.

Kristine Jones

I remember walking into TRY Recycling for my first interview with the company; yes they made me jump through several hoops before I got the position. Pleasantly surprised with the upbeat & positive office atmosphere I remained cautiously optimistic, after all, how often does everyone have a great day, all at the same time.

Interviewing for a sales position I was going to be the Road Warrior, Saving the Planet One Call at a Time, much like a recycling super hero, just without the cape! Now after getting my “Feet Green”, I understand why everyone was so positive that day and has been everyday since. Everyone working at TRY has an infinite dedication and commitment to making a positive difference in our environment and I am proud to be a super hero amongst many.

Jennifer Hall – Customer Service Representative

Since Joining the “TRY Team” in May 2009, I have learned many new and exciting things about the Recycling Industry and the components that go into making the Recycling Industry what it is today. My Primary role at TRY Recycling is Renting Bins to London and surrounding towns – along with answering all incoming phone calls and assisting the general public with proper disposal of their material.

Living in the country for 20 years and moving to the “small town atmosphere” I have learned to appreciate what the earth has given us. The more we can do to keep the landfills free of recyclable materials the better our Children’s lives will be someday – Just like our sign says at Clarke Road –On behalf of your children, thank you for Recycling.
