O’Christmas Tree, O’Christmas Tree! How can I recycle thee?
Don't throw your Christmas tree away after the holiday season. Recycle it!!!! Trees will be collected as garbage if they are set out at the curb.
Drop-off Locations
- Before bringing your tree to a depot, Londoners are asked to:
- Remove all decorations, including tinsel and garland, as these materials present a safety hazard for staff operating the chipping machines
- If disposing of other holiday evergreens (cedar rope, wreaths, etc.) ensure that all metal and other materials are removed
- At the depot, please remove plastic bags used to transport the tree and take them home to dispose of or reuse
- PLEASE REMOVE ALL METAL. Metal presents a safety hazard to staff operating chipping equipment, can result in damage to equipment and cannot be composted.
